Rudrakshas, created from the tears of God Shiva, powerful protection shield, spiritual tool and one of my most favorite photo prop on this planet. So favorite that I didn’t hesitate to spend a fortune buying them, I didn’t regret dedicating almost full luggage to transport them to Slovakia, carried them on the top of the hills again and again till I got my shots for series Burden of Faith and carried them back to India…
From that moment when I stepped to India for the first time I started to learn about the life all over again. I studied yoga, ayurveda, massages, I let myself experience different types of energy healing and learnt about the meditation.
The air in India is full of fragrances, glitters, sparkles and magic. Spirituality is normal part of life and black and white magic cooexist just so naturally that you feel like everything is possible.
One of the most common spiritual tool/symbol you will find all over India is rudraksha mala. Necklace made out of 108 Rudraksha seeds used for prayers and meditation.
There are different type of Rudrakshas based on the number of ‘faces’ they have. Accordingly they posses the powers to help or destroy the one who owns them.
In Ayurveda, the seed, bark and leaves of rudraksha tree have antibacterial, antidepressant, anti-asthmatic effects. They are used for treating mental disorders, fevers, headaches, epilepsy and other illnesses.
And so it’s of no surprise that rudrakshas became one of my top favorite of all the things that India gave me.
Do they really possess all the enormous powers that spiritual gurus talk about? Surely they are capable of absorbing the energies we put into them, surely they can become the representation of our thoughts, will, faith and believes, surely huge number of people believe in their powers and so collectively energize them and make them work as spiritual tool.
I planned a photoshoot based on my belief that wherever we send our thoughts, whatever we wish for and believe in, everything becomes our reality and religious symbols are just symbols to give our energies some shape, some container to believe it even more.
Our lives are never free, we are always limited by what we believe in. Our principles create the walls of our own world, often shutting the eyes and forcing us to live in the bubble of unreal faith.
Believe in yourself and don’t allow the society to mould your soul, change your believes and kill your knowledge. Step out to reach your Higher Self and live your prescious life.
